CGS 2069 E-COMMERCE
(3 Credit Hours)

Course Description:

Introduces the student to the necessary knowledge and skills required to develop and start a business and develop a Web site on the Internet. Topics include an overview of Internet commerce; business basics, advertising, and marketing on the Internet; and security issues.

Prerequisites:

CGS 1555 Introduction to the Internet or permission of the instructor
COP 2823 Graphics Design for the Internet or permission of the instructor.

Course Objectives:

After completing this course, the student will be able to:
  1. Discuss the informal rules of the Internet and World Wide Web
  2. Discuss how to reach a target audience on the Internet
  3. Understand design concepts and implement a design
  4. Discuss methods for taking orders and collection cash
  5. Discuss methods for keeping data and systems secure
  6. Use HTML basics to create home pages
